The Sea Directory allows you to have a complete view of bathing accommodation facilities. About bathing destinations, we can’t not mention places like Rimini, Riccione and Cattolica, important Italian tourist destinations. The Adriatic coast is very popular with the young and foreign tourists (especially from German). On the west coast there is the popular Versilia, an area located in north-west Tuscany between the provinces of Lucca and Massa - Carrara. Versilia includes the municipal districts of Camaiore, Forte dei Marmi, Massa, Montagnoso, Pietrasanta, Seravezza, Stazzema and Viareggio. Such area borders in the east with the Alps Apuane, in the north with Marina di Carrara, in the south with the lake of Massaciuccoli and in the west with the Ligurian Sea. Viareggio, the main centre of Versilia, has been developed as a mass bathing destination in the sixties. Families appreciate the quietness of Liguria, a rich vegetation land. In the south lies Calabria with its Tyrrhenian coast characterized by high rocks and wide beaches, while the Ionic coast shows bays and tracts of sand. Then, there is Puglia with its history and colours, Sardinia with its typical nuraghes, its blue - green sea, the wild landscape of Barbagia and the mountains of Gallura; Sicily, where you can find churches and ancient aristocratic palaces rich of history. Italy offers many other demanded destinations: the islands. The Tremiti Islands, well-known archipelago of the Adriatic Sea, are 12 miles away from Gargano. They are known as “pearls of Adriatic Sea” because of their charming beauty. The Aeolian Islands are a volcanic archipelago in the province of Messina and are located in the Tirreno Sea north of Sicilian coast. The Elba Island is 20 km away from the coast of the Tirreno Sea and it’s the biggest island of the Tuscany archipelago, and the third biggest island of Italy. The Ischia Island lies in the gulf of Naples and is well-known for its spa facilities, while the Capri Island is one of the favourite destinations of international tourists and is famous in the world for its natural beauties, millenary history and mild weather. » «
