Tourist Guide of Elba Island

ELBA ISLAND
The Island of Elba and its wonders
Tourist Guide of Elba Island

The clear blue sea that laps the shores of the Island of Elba is the variegated enchanting scenery, part of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park. 10 km from the mainland, the Island of Elba is the third largest island in Italy. Ninety miles of coastline from Livorno to Piombino, looking onto the Tyrrhenian Sea, and already the '700 Carlo Goldoni backdrop for his "vacation". A secular "culture of hospitality", which makes the Etruscan Coast a cosy place like few others, where to go on holiday feeling at home.

The shoreline of the Etruscan Coast is a succession of peaceful and relaxing beach resorts, very well suited to families and children, with long sandy beaches alternating with choreographic cliffs: Castiglioncello, Quercianella, Rosignano, Vada, Cecina, Bibbona, Marina di Castagneto and many others. A largely intact natural environment, thanks to the presence of several protected areas, protecting more than twenty per cent of the territory: the WWF Oasi di Bolgheri, a wetland of international importance; Magona Park, home to a biogenetic oasis; Park Hills Leghorn, of considerable historical interest, just to name a few.

Lots of nature, therefore, but also a lot of history with the mysterious Etruscan and Roman ruins, which are flanked by elegant medieval and Renaissance: the Archaeological Park of Baratti-Populonia, the medieval villages of Bolgheri, Populonia, Castagneto Carducci. ... A trip along the Etruscan Coast offers guests the opportunity to alternate days relaxing on the beach with exciting rides and walks in the hinterland - by car, horseback, bicycle, on foot ... - to discover the nature and history of this wonderful earth, perhaps stopping at some local restaurant to taste the famous local cuisine, of course based on fish. Not to mention the baths of Calidario and Elba.

The tourists who come annually to this charming village may decide to stay at one of the many hotels of the Island of Elba, to live a peaceful and pleasant vacation while maintaining close contact with the surrounding nature.
