Getting to know Switzerland
Tourist Guide of Switzerland

Cheese, chocolate, watches and box cutters are the terms commonly used to describe Switzerland, and its primary production capacity. The Swiss Confederation, better known by the simple name Switzerland, is located in the heart of the Alps and is bordered by Germany, Liechtenstein, Austria, Italy and France . The capital is Bern, and the nation is divided into three linguistic and cultural backgrounds. In fact, the official languages are French, German and Italian, in addition to the Romansh spoken only in Graubünden.

Switzerland is a country with the highest income per capita in the world, and is universally known for the commonplace, such as chocolate, watches and cuckoo clocks, cheese and mountains. However, Switzerland is much more than that, a place where people are very friendly and civil, nature is often pristine and efficiency is a duty of life. Administratively speaking is composed of 26 cantons, of which the most important are Appenzell, Aargau, Basel Land, Basel-Stadt, Bern, Fribourg, Geneva, Glarus, Graubünden, Lucerne, Neuchatel, Nidwalden, Obwalden, St. Gallen, Schwyz, Schaffhausen, Solothurn, Ticino, Thurgau, Uri, Valais, Vaud, Zug and Zurich .

Swiss history begins in 1291 when the communities of Schwyz, Uri and Unterwalden met on the shores of Lake Lucerne, signing an oath of alliance and mutual defense. Over time one joined voluntarily or by conquest all the other cantons.

The Swiss territory is essentially composed of three different landscapes, the Swiss Alps, the hills of the Central Plateau that stretches from Lake Constance to Geneva , and the landscape of the limestone massif of Jura.

Switzerland is a very popular tourist destination, especially for a winter holiday of skiing and mountain, with efficient structures equipped with every comfort.
